IntelliCare Careers - Frequently Asked Questions

WORK AT HOME OPPORTUNITIES:

IntelliCare offers work at home opportunities to Registered Nurses who are hired as Nurse Consultants around the country. (There are a few states we are not yet able to hire from but continue to add new locations every year). Most other positions are only able to work from our office locations in Portland, Maine, and Dallas, Texas and are NOT eligible to work from home. (All current openings are listed on our career search page).

Nurse Consultants must first train in one of our office locations before they have the ability to work at home. Training occurs in South Portland, Maine. Based on the positions that we are hiring for at any given time, the training typically lasts up to 3 weeks and must be completed before having the ability to work at home. The training locations for any given hiring group will be specified in the job description when appropriate. (Yes, all training is paid at the rate a new employee is hired at. Other training questions will be answered in the interview process).

CAN I FAX OR MAIL MY RESUME?:

No. All applications MUST be submitted on-line through our careers website. We do not accept resumes in person, via email, fax, or by US mail. This allows our hiring managers located around the country to access all the applications that are submitted. It also allows candidates to complete a full application for the position they are applying for which may include position specific questions.

I CAN'T GET MY ON-LINE APPLICATION TO WORK CORRECTLY:

A very small % of candidates who use non-compatible internet browsers may have trouble using our on-line application. In almost all cases, candidates who can use a different computer to apply from will be able to complete the process. (Many public libraries and local colleges offer internet access at no cost). ).

JOB SEARCH vs. TALENT POOL:

The "Job Search" link on our careers website offers opportunities to apply for specific openings we are currently hiring for.

The "Talent Pool" link offers a way to send us your resume now even if we don't currently have a specific job open that you are interested in. Applying to the IC Talent Pool does not guarantee that you will be considered for a future position. Please check back frequently, and when a position is posted that you want to be considered for, please click on it to apply directly.

WHAT ARE APPLICATION FIELDS:

The fields listed on our candidate profile which are in bold face type and have a (*) next to them are required when applying to IntelliCare. Please carefully complete these fields and as many others as possible.

PASSWORD PROBLEMS:

Your password must be at least six characters in length for the system to accept it.

WHY DO I HAVE TO SUBMIT A RESUME?:

We require that all candidates submit a resume. This allows the hiring team to review work experience (and other requirements for the position). There are three ways to submit your resume using our on-line application. You can type your resume into the appropriate box when you create your on-line profile, or copy and paste your resume into that same box. You can also attach a resume in MS Word format by using the attach link on the profile page, or upload document field on the 2nd page of the profile process.

If you don't put your resume in the profile when applying, you can return to the career site and use the "Update Profile" link to do so in the future.

WHERE DOES INTELLICARE HIRE?:

IntelliCare's corporate office is in South Portland, Maine. We also have a satellite facility in Dallas, Texas.

Most of our corporate staff is hired in the South Portland, Maine area. On occasion we hire from the region surrounding Dallas, Texas for other positions.

Nurse Consultants are hired from around the country and are able to work at home once they complete a training program (typically three weeks) at one of our training facilities. We employee nurses from all over the country, however, there are still a few states we are unable to hire from. We continue to add new states every year.

SALARY FIELD:

The on-line system requires that you use the standard money format for your salary information, i.e. 30,000. The system will not accept shortcuts such as 30k.

UPDATING YOUR PROFILE:

If your profile needs to be updated (i.e. phone number changes, new resume information, etc) use the "Update Profile" link located on our careers page and log back in with your email address and password.
