IntelliCare Nurse Consultants
IntelliCare's Nurse Consultant-Shared Team positions will require 3 weeks of training at our South Portland, Maine location for everyone hired. After successful completion of training, these candidates will be able to work from their own home offices. IntelliCare is able to hire from many states as long as candidates are able to accommodate the three week training in Maine and other technical requirements. (We are unable to hire from a few specific states, but continue to add to the list frequently).
IntelliCare Nurse Consultants (NC's) practice computer assisted expert nursing through inbound and outbound telephone interactions with patients whose physicians, hospitals, insurers, employers, or other sponsors/providers are IntelliCare clients. Nurse Consultants are registered nurses who provide individualized direct patient care in accordance with policies, procedures, and established standards of nursing care and practice. There are two major clinical work types, which include telephonic triage and disease management. IntelliCare provides each of our nurse consultants with the opportunity to work in each (or even both) of these clinical categories.
We seek nurses who can meet our minimum basic requirements listed below. We prefer to hire those who have:
- Superior nursing process skills and patient service drive.
- A positive, enthusiastic, helpful, fun-seeking personality.
- Who are organized, able to set priorities and work effectively under pressure with minimum supervision.
- Those who works well as a team member.
- Those who have or can quickly develop an ability to think, converse, and type simultaneously while utilizing excellent telephone communication skills and customer focused interpersonal relationship skills.
- Membership in a professional organization or certification in a specialty is highly desired.
- Applicants that are Spanish speaking are encouraged to apply
Minimum Basic Requirements:
- Candidates must reside in a state that IntelliCare is able to hire from.
- Must be able to attend training which lasts for 3 consecutive weeks. (Transportation to training is the responsibility of those we hire. Hotel accommodations will be provided for those who live more than an hour from our office. IntelliCare nurses are able to work from home after they successfully complete training).
- Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in an acute or ambulatory care setting.
- Must have at least 1 year acute care and/or home health nursing for cardiac, diabetic patients and/or renal patients - or - prior phone triage, ER triage, or MD office triage or telehealth disease or case management.
- Must have basic PC skills that include a combination of working in a Windows Operating System, experience with email or internet searches, and the ability to set up a home based computer.
- Must have a current RN license in the state where the candidate lives and be able to obtain licenses in other states as required by IntelliCare.
- Must have a high-speed cable or DSL internet service (or ability to get that service) to their home office. (Satellite internet service is not acceptable).
- Must be able to type a minimum of 30 words per minute.
- Must have the ability to set up a home office which complies with HIPPA regulations (private area with a locked door where patient information won't be compromised)
- Must successfully pass background check and be able to provide positive employment references.
Physical Requirements:
- Sedentary work requiring good manual dexterity with repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
- An IntelliCare Nurse must have vision sufficiently correctable to work with a computer monitor.
- They also must have excellent hearing and listening skills to receive detailed information through oral communication techniques.
- Each employee must be able to speak and understand English.
